Want A Colourful Funeral?

I heard about this last night on 'The One Show'. A company now specialises on making coffins with big bold pictures on them to jazz up your funeral. Take a look to pick your design. [www.colourfulcoffins.com]

Eco Paper Log Maker

This was today's Tea Room Topic - making logs for the fire from old newspapers! I like the idea and have purchased one of these gadgets from ebay. A Dungannon based business is selling them and they are very popular at the minute. It could be a complete red herring but I am going to try it to see.

Will keep you updated...

Brilliant César Keeps United At Bay

The Champions League bandwagon is back on the road again after the group stages finished in December. United played well and indeed should have scored a couple at least in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. There is so much emphasis placed on the away goal in these knock-out stages but I still think if you win your home game (as you should) the tie should be yours. I think with a few tactical changes to the team such as Vidic back, Scholes and Rooney starting then we will win at OT in two weeks time. Internazionale 0-0 United.

The Winter Sale will finish on Saturday (28th February). All remaining autumn / winter stock will be at giveaway prices. Don't keep it to yourself - TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT!!!

Pure And Utter Quality

United 2-1 Blackburn. Hard work and not the best performance of the season but an important win. I am still so very frustrated with Nani - one good game and then ten bad ones - SAF must know something I don't know. Keep up the good work boys....

Another Record Beckoning

United claimed a ninth successive win against Fulham last night to open up a formidable five-point lead at the top of the table. This was United's 14th consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, while Edwin van der Sar inched closer to the world record for not conceding a goal by extending his unbeaten run to 1,302 minutes. Goals from Scholesy, Berba and the returning Wazza from injury seen off the Londoners. United 3-0 Fulham.

Embedding A You Tube Video

I have been looking at how to put a video on the blog so I am testing with one of my favourite ads on the telly at the minute. Enjoy...

Cool, isn't it!

Stroke Awareness

Just recently I have heard a lot in the media about how to detect a victim of a stroke. Useful information can be found on the NHS website. Please read as you never know....

Rams Take A Battering

United welcomed back a few faces from injury and shuffled the pack again to record an excellent fifth round F.A.Cup victory over Derby County. Good solid performances from Gibson, Park and Nani in midfield set the team up for a comfortable win. Derby 1-4 United.

Save Gortmore Home

Here is a local issue which is looking for your support. One of the oldest caring facilities in the town is being put under pressure to close. The Ulster Herald has organised a petition through its website to help lobby against this action. Please support. [www.ulsterherald.com]

Magic - The Truth Is Out

MR (aka Magic) has eventually come clean about his trip to Paris for St. Valentines - all bluff, not a word of truth about it! A few of the ladies were drawn in and indeed told the story on but the rest of us knew what was happening. They revel in a good old fashioned love story. Ah well, maybe next year!

Madeleine McCann

The story has faded away in many people's memories but it is important not to forget about this little girl. Please keep Madeleine in your thoughts and prayers. And please – remain vigilant. [www.findmadeleine.com]

First Snowman Of The Winter

Chlo, Em, Carol and me built our first snowman of the winter today. The snow finally did come in good measure this morning. We decided to build a monster one so that it would hang aound for a day or two.
Another great result for United today again to go back to the summit of the Premiership. Ryan Giggs also set another record by scoring in every Premier League season - brilliant! West Ham 0-1 United.

Today's Tea Room Topic

I am sure our workplace is no different to many others. The staff room, or tea room as we call it, often throws up an interesting discussion or debate over the lunch break. I will regularly update you on our Tea Room Topic - today the question on everyone's lips: "Is there life on Mars?". As you know there are many highly qualified indiviuals out there who are working hard on the answer so I will not bore you with our thoughts but needless to say there were many variations on the subject!

Cavanacaw Residents Group

February - A Strange Month

It is 10.30 am and I am looking out of my office window into the entry and it is as dark as night! February is cold - we think winter should be well through but winter is definitely still here in February.
February is quiet - after the hustle and bustle of December and January things settle down in the second month of the year.
February is short - the shortest month but still pay day doesn't come quick enough!
February is competitive - Premier league, Champions League and FA Cup all start to get very serious. At the end of the month a clearer picture will form....
February is work - our financial year finishes on the last day which means there is a lot to be done.
February is strange - but I like February!!

It's Snow Joke

First of all - hard luck the Toffees on Saturday evening - United 1-0 Everton. We should have had two penalties (and probably should have conceded one as well!) but ground out another hard fought 1-0 win. I just love Park's face when he gets booked - 'who me Ref, no way!'. Some parts of the country are getting snow but Omagh is still clear of the white stuff for the time being. The Sale continues with more reductions so there is now lots of garments at ridiculous prices.
